You mourned over your decision to miss the FIFA Soccer World Cup in Brazil two summers ago; after all, a worldwide event that happens once every four years + Brazil = unforgettable experience. Well, ladies and gents, your redemption has arrived, and its name is the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably already know that the world’s biggest sporting event will be held in none other than sizzling Rio de Janeiro in August. People from all over the world will be booking their tickets to Rio to watch the Universe’s best athletes compete for the gold. So the question is: will you let another amazing experience slip through your fingers?
When? August 5th — 21st 2016
What’s the ticket situation? The committee plans to sell 7.5 million tickets, and 70 percent of those are reserved for Brazilian residents, so get a move-on before they’re gone! They started selling in October, so to get your tickets you’ll have to contact an authorized ticket reseller in your country. Be careful as to not be sold fake tickets from those who aren’t authorized ticket resellers!
Wait, where exactly in Rio? Good question. The Games will be held in these 4 zones of the city: Barra da Tijuca (the epicenter of the Games), Copacabana, Deodoro and Maracanã. You may want to coordinate where the events are that you want to see and book your lodging accordingly.
What else do I need to know? Well, glad you asked.
– Depending on your nationality, you’ll need to get a visa to enter Brazil.
– To enter Brazil, you’ll also need to have a passport that’s valid for at least 6 more months from the day you enter the country.
– A bit of common knowledge here, but book your hotels/Air B&B/hostels as early as you possibly can…the city is going to be filled to the brim.
– The national language of Brazil is Portuguese. Help out the locals and try to learn a bit of their language before you go.
So if you’re ready for adrenaline, athletics and sun, make the 2016 Rio Olympics your next big trip! To book a trip to Brazil (or Argentina for that matter), let us at Say Hueque help you out!
