The Iberá Wetlands are a mix of swamps, lagoons, stagnant lakes, natural slough and courses of water in the center of the Argentinean province of Corrientes. Iberá is among the most significant fresh water reservoirs in the area and the second-largest wetland in the world with 1.3 million hectares of wilderness. The wildlife present here is worth the visit – from ostriches, numerous other birds to deer and giant otters. The wetlands are home to 4,000 different species of plants and animals. A fun way to explore the park is on a kayak or on horseback.
