If you are travelling to Bariloche by plane (which is usually preferred to the 24 hour bus journey) you will be landing at the San Carlos de Bariloche Airport.
The Teniente Luis Candelaria International Airport, or more commonly known as the Bariloche Airport, is located 13 km (8 miles) outside of San Carlos de Bariloche City. It is serviced by airlines Aerolineas Argentinas, Gol, LAN, Sky Airline, and TAM. The most frequent flights fly to and from Buenos Aires, but you can also find frequent flights from Santiago de Chile and Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Bariloche airport also has seasonal local service to Argentine destinations like Cordoba, Iguazu Falls, Mendoza, Rosario, and Salta.
The trip from the Bariloche airport to the city center takes about 20 – 30 minutes, depending on your mode of transportation. You can catch a taxi that will cost about AR$150 pesos and take about 20 minutes. There is also a convenient city bus that stops at a few selected points in the town that costs around AR$30 pesos and takes about 30 – 40 minutes. Make sure to plan ahead if you are returning to the airport and check the bus timetable as service runs about every half hour. If you are heading to another part of the Argentina Lake District, such as El Bolson or Llao Llao, you will need to first head into town and then catch another bus that heads to your destination.
