To bring the long Southern summer to a close in style, many international bands and djs transpiring from the… spheres of rock, indie and electronic music will make their way down to South America to ignite the much-anticipated Lollapalooza Festival.
3 of the large South American cities will play host to the festival. The inaugural Lollapalooza Argentina arrives at the Hipodromo de San Isidro, Buenos Aires, on the 1st and 2nd of April with partners Fenix Entertainment Group. The likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Arcade Fire, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Vampire Weekend, Axwell and Imagine Dragons are among the 50+ acts that will grace the 5 stages of the hippodrome.
In Chile, Lollapalooza returns for the 4th time on March 29th -30th at the wonderful O’Higgins Park, Santiago. This is an even bigger edition of the festival than that in Buenos Aires with over sixty acts arriving to the Chilean capital. Similar bands to the Argentine version will be topping the bill here along with a more established electronic stage that includes Axwell, Bloody Beetroots, Wolfgang Gartner, Flux Pavillion and Flume among others.
Lollapalooza also dips its festival feet in Brazil. On the 5th and 6th of April it makes haste to Sao Paulo with new international partners Time For Fun to kick-start festivities at the Interlagos Race Track. The lineup will be announced on November the 11th and sales for tickets begin a week later.
Perry Farrell, founder of Lollapalooza, has stated “Our perennial trip through South America has become one of the most anticipated times of the year for my family and our extended family (of musicians). I have also been inviting every delightful new acquaintance to join us. They will find it to be an epic journey as well”.
